Dion O'Banion was a Prohibition Era Irish gang leader in Chicago who duked it out with Al Capone and the Genna Brothers.

O'Banion is thought by some to briefly have been part of Johnny Torrio's gang (later Capone's gang), but it is more likely that the men merely had a working relationship.

O'Banion was a florist by trade. He was shot dead in his florist shop in 1924 supposedly by gangsters (perhaps one of Frankie Uale's jobs) who were picking up a floral arrangement for Mike Merlo's funeral.
